Empower Network, Dave Wood continue fighting

Empower Network sells internet marketing tools and training, including a well-known blogging system. They’re one of the last remaining digital darlings of 2012 that saw several digital MLMs sprout up.

However, few (if any) in the industry have the vision of co-founder Dave Wood. Dude brings passion to the table every day, and that’s why Empower Network is still worth talking about.

Does this mean I’m involved?

This video explains everything:

Make sense? Either way, here’s the full review on Empower Network.

Sign-up cost: $25/mo+

Global revenue: 63 Million

The good: One of the few digital MLM’s still thriving, in large part because of a passionate founder.

The bad: Some products haven’t been refreshed in years; Kalutu blog underwhelms; and company survives on habitual re-launches.

Products

Empower has five main products. They are:

  • Kalatu Blogging System
  • Inner Circle
  • Top Producer Formula
  • Team Building Formula
  • Mass Influence Formula

The Kalatu Blogging System is Empower Network’s primary product. Chris Record, a successful blogger, worked with Empower Network to create Kalatu. It was designed to be friendly to new users and those in industries that require a strong Internet presence. The many plugins and widgets Kalatu offers help to expedite the blogging process, saving users a great deal of time.

Several reviews of Kalatu have praised it for making it easy for bloggers to lay out their blog and come up with ideas, particularly those who are new to blogging. For anyone who wants to create a professional blog that has a chance to become profitable, Kalatu can be a useful system. It comes at a cost of $25 per month.

Inner Circle is a series of audio recordings. They come from successful entrepreneurs who may provide entertaining stories, inspiration, belief in your self, and helpful “nuggets” of information that can help you in your professional life. The recordings are easy to listen to in one’s spare time, and the monthly service costs $100 per month.

Top Producer Formula provides a wealth of information on Internet marketing. The program is taught by industry leaders and can help you become a top producer in your business. It comes with a one-time cost of $500.

Team Building Formula teaches you how to apply the laws of team building to your business. Empower Network pledges that following these laws can help anyone who is struggling to build a profitable team. The cost is a one-time payment of $1,000.

Mass Influence Formula teaches you how to win the respect of people and use that respect to influence their behavior. The formula uses scientific information to teach you the proper ways to persuade others. The cost is a one-time fee of $3,500.

Opportunity

Empower Network offers people a chance to make money selling the five products mentioned above. The company has an affiliate program, allowing members to make up to 70% commission on sales. Of course, it is easier said than done to make money as an Empower Network affiliate, so this is not a slam-dunk opportunity, a sentiment backed up by one reviewer who says making money with Empower Network takes more skill than the company lets on.

If you choose to become an affiliate, the company encourages you to recruit other affiliates to Empower Network. The simple act of recruiting others doesn’t net any additional pay, but you do earn a commission for the sales made by those you recruit, which can increase the amount of money you can make through Empower Network.

Becoming an affiliate of Empower Network gives you access marketing data, as well as tools and information that can assist you in making sales. However, receiving the affiliate label requires a monthly fee of $19.95, a cost that could potentially rise without warning.

The Good

One thing that elevates Empower Network over other multi-level marketing firms is their legitimacy and reliability. Empower Network has a B rating from the Better Business Bureau, whereas most MLM companies don’t receive any grade. The company has been operating long enough to show some sense of stability and a sustained level of success.

The costs of dealing with Empower Network, either as a consumer or an affiliate, are also reasonable, at least for those who intend to make a serious effort to sell their products. In fact, many customers who have purchased the company’s products have testified to becoming affiliates after being impressed with what the company has to offer from an Internet marketing standpoint.

The Bad

On the downside, for those without a serious interest in online marketing, the cost of Empower Network’s products outside of the Kalatu Blogging System may be considered quite expensive. There are also no free trial periods for potential customers or affiliates to test out some of the more expensive products, so there is some inherent risk in putting down a large sum of money without certainty as to whether or not it’ll pay off in the long run.

Some of the products are also getting outdated, as they have not been updated in any meaningful way since the launch of the company and may not be as useful as they once were. This is disappointing to see in any company, particularly one that’s based around online marketing. Even the Kalatu Blogging System, which is the company’s bread and butter, has some flaws, as it can be useful for beginners but not necessarily a great option for more experienced bloggers. This makes it difficult to reach a significant chunk of the desired market.

Recap

While there are certainly reasons to like Empower Network and consider it as a viable multi-level marketing company, it should be easy to find something better. The company has proven to be profitable enough to stay in business over the course of several years, so it’s not a terrible company to bet on. If you impressed by their products or like their commission set up, Empower Network may work out well for you.

That being said, the company appears to be trending downward, and has been for over a year. Empower Network does not appear to be adapting and changing with the times. This leads one to think that the future may not be so bright.

At the end of the day, Empower Network may be a viable option if they offer something that fits your short-term plans. However, it does not appear to be a company with whom you’d be wise to make a long-term commitment.

If you like automated ways to build passive income, there are better ways.

(and you can trash those old MLM habits, too)
